today when i started my car.. let it idle for a bit to warm up and i noticed the revs were lower and they kept droppign tll it finally stalled?.. i have installed a atmo bov a couple of weeks ago and it hasnt done this to me.. could the hoses have come lose? also i find when i during my gear changes i hear my car backfiring with that popping noise.. whats up with that =/

The backfiring is because your car is overfuelling because of the atmo bov, and the unburnt fuel goes through your exhaust, and the heat of your exhaust makes it go bang/pop

Sounds like a major vaccumm leak u got.
Also souns like its overfuelling between gears because of the air being lost..stock computers reads off the AFM and gives right petrol for given air,if u dump that air, which ur atmo BOV is doing,u will have an overly rich mixture and could possiblly cause a backfire..and black smoke between gears..a backfire isnt that common though

Put ur hand over the BOV wen its idling and c if u can hear it hissing or fell it either sucking or pushing air out,rev it,does it seal up? if so ur valve is leaking.

hmm so is the backfiring an issue cos if it is i might look arond for a plumpback.. as for the idling ill test it out tonight and get back to you.. thanks for the quick replies!..

ok just checked the vacuum hoses and made sure they were tight.. and idle seems okay now..

i don't know if this is suppose to happen but are the fans suppose to stop running after a while? i think they are my thermo fans? cos they stopped after a minute or so..

yes your thermo fan comes on and off. When you stop, car doesnt get cool breeze of air, fan turns on, radiator goes happy, fan turns off.
