Engine wise, the EVO engine loom is no problem to fit the GVR4 engine as described above.
But, you will have other discrepancies in the EVO engine harness when trying to adapt it to suit your GSR.
i.e. what interior dash loom are you using? GSR or EVO?
Are you going to keep aircon? Will you be using EVO climate control? or keep the factory GSR aircon controls?
Do you want to use EVO fold away mirrors?
The 6-pin plug near the drivers side strut tower for radiator fans etc is different and the EVO plug wont plug into the GSR plug. It has a different wiring setup too.
If ease of install is what you want to put a 4G63 engine straight into a GSR without all the other EVO electrics, then get the wiring harness in the for sale section. The Evo 3 harness was modified to plug straight into a GSR to run a 4G63 engine.
http://www.4gtuner.com/topic/23813-evo-3-4g63t-motor-harness-modded-for-a-gsr-price-drop/#entry299910 . For $120 its a godsend for a GSR owner!!
Note that you wont be able to run EVO climate control with that modified harness.
But normal aircon will work if you get an evo aircon compressor and hoses. Evo compressor only has one wire on it.
Don't cut up your genuine EVO 3 harness as it will make baby Jesus cry. Especially if for $120 someone has already done all the hard work for you to save any headfuks (depending what you want in your conversion of course).
