INJECTORS

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

For 300kw atw, you'd probably need around 1000cc just to be safe!

I was running 800cc's for 202 kw atw

nah nah nah, it has more than enough power for my liking. its just for everyday use they seem to be drowning my plugs. i am just putting it out there for people to give some opinions and ideas. my future plans are to forge the engine, maybe a new inlet mani and turn up the boost and try and get as close to 300 as possible. obviously this wouldn't be a everyday use figure but would be nice to have it handy

According to my injector sizing calcs, you should be able to do it with 750's at about 88% duty.

Would depends on the 750's tho and the rest of the system.

1000cc Rochesters... are pretty bad under high boost.. they choke up.. really bad..

to achieve 300kw.. you will need about 750cc injectors.

750cc @ 68psi (43psi base) 1:1 @ 90% will support 540hp at the flywheel which is more then enough for 300KW.

If aiming for 300kw atw you want minimum 750cc running a lower duty cycle. Some boys use 1000cc injectors and pay big $$ for them when they arent really required and your tuner will tell you that. Make sure you get decent injectors too with a good spray pattern as this is important. I ended up getting a new set of 880cc 6 sprayer units from Precision Auto in America through EBay - bloody nice injector at a realistic price

Here's a link to an auction now which works out as $305US ($380AU) delivered to your door :)

PTE are just rebranded rochester injectors...

Denso injects are great.. they are factory brand injectors.. they also make sards range of injectors...and afew others...

Reason why we are PFI dont sell or refuse to sell alot of Rochester is that they clog up and choke once you give it about 22psi.. they cough and splutter and just pour the fuel in.. not really good if you wanna tune your car for optimal quality..

If you want first hand experience on PTE injectors.. ask Bazeng.. why he sold his PTE injectors.

My personal choice of recommended brands: (no particular order)

- Denso
- Sard
- Lucas
- Siemens
- Bosch
- Power Enterprise
- Nismo

Anything else is just utter crap....

Are my injectors are Rochestors if they are PTE? I'll see how they go first but thanks for the heads up. If they start stuffing up at around 22psi I'll let you know as I'm looking to go more boost than that :) Is the 'clogging up and choking' issue across the board on all Rochestor injectors?

Yer rochesters make PTE.. im like 99.9% sure.. rochesters are renowned in the industry for a 'choking' injector once it gets above 70psi fuel pressure.. which is normally around the 22-30psi range depending on how you set up your reg..

Most tuners unless they are on a rotary dont use rochesters anymore.. there are far more better injectors on the market now adays to hold 70psi + in the fuel line..

Im not trying to scare you.. or sell you anything.. just giving you the heads up on why we dont sell them.. we put some thru our machines and yer they were bad.. the spray pattern went to shit and it just was really bad at high PSI.... low they are fine.. but yer not many people do run them at lows.

Yeah I had Rochester 880cc injectors in my VR4 and my tuner couldnt get more than 10 degrees advanced timing before detonation was occuring, replaced with some SARD 800's and got an extra 20kwatw.

Its not that they're a 'bad' injector as such, its the spray pattern (there is none)

apparently they're only good for rotaries as it just dumps the fuel in the cylinder
