Are my injectors are Rochestors if they are PTE? I'll see how they go first but thanks for the heads up. If they start stuffing up at around 22psi I'll let you know as I'm looking to go more boost than that Smile Is the 'clogging up and choking' issue across the board on all Rochestor injectors?
PTE was what i had, they are okay, but we had strange fuel problems which we traced down to the injectors. Either the ecu didn't like them or couldn't control them but we couldn't get it to idle nicely. They were 780cc in size and had the 6 holes in them. Went for the sards and instantly, the idle was fixed, economy increased etc.
used to do around 280 - 350km's per tank with the 780's
did around 450 with the sards. (800cc also).
If you are using an AUTRONIC / MOTEC, they would probably have better control over the wolf with the RC's or PTE's...
Give it a shot, its not gonna hurt!
But I have been informed by FP in USA (those insane dudes who built the worlds fastest evo 7 or 8???). I was asking them if i should purchase a set of there FIC injectors (1000cc for $300 USD), he asked what i currently had and i told him sard 800cc's................ He instantly replied, keep the sards, they are much better than the FIC's (aka rochester / delphi etc)... He's main reason was that the denso's are much more controllable and can even be safe running at 100% duty!. Whereas the FIC's need to be kept under 80% to be safe.... Also supposably the way they measure the Rochesters are with a higher base pressure than normal therefor overrating the injector.
But i know if you want 1000cc sards, its not going to be easy on the pocket.
another option for fuel economy is to run 8 injectors. You could easily grab 2 sets of 510cc's for cheap! great economy down low at idle and enough fuel up top also!
