is anyone here using a inline oil filter before the turbo??

some how my oil cooler collected foreign objects which went to my turbo and blocked it. and thats what caused the bearings to go.

you are surposed to use them with ball bearing turbos as they are far more intolerant of dirty oil than plain bearing ones, however you really should try and keep your oil system as particulate free as possible

yeh i only found that out after my turbo shit its self.

what kind of filter should i be using??

thanks matress, looks like i gota get enzed back out to chop the stainless braided and crimp some fittings for this.

take a look at the gauge of the filter that is in those inline oil filters... smallest thing that it would filter out is a cricket sized insect...

Forced Performance make one for both ball bearing, and bush bearing turbochargers. The only concern I had, was what if it got clogged, and I wasnt aware. So I've fitted a pressure gauge between the filter and the turbo.
