Has anyone done or know how to calibrated the sensor?

So I've install the wideband. Though the sensor is already in the stock vr4 dump pipe. I got a bit side track after rebuilding my vr4 engine to see if it ran which it did.

It came with a led and switch button for calibration purposes

I've wired it as stated. The first step of the calibration works (blinks twice). Second step nothing lights up.

Here are the instructions giving in package

http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/support/quickstart/LC-1_Quickstart.pdf (Im aware Im suppose to do it free air but to remove the sensor requires me to take dump off which leads to j-pipe, exhaust, IC pipes)

I know the sensor works because ecmlink logs it but im unaware if the readings are true.

Also where I could get a serial - usb adaptor to connect to laptop since it has to serial port connections.

I would like to avoid removing the sensor from the dump pipe. But the sensor is separate to the lc-1 device through a plug. I've unplugged power, ground, lc-1 plug etc. Removing the sensor from dump would be the very last option due to accessibility and unbolting majority of components.

long story short - I got 4 new poly rubber engine mounts and the engine has moved forward a fair bit so hence im hesitate to removing and bolt everything back up lol

due to residual fuel in the pipe if you dont it probably wont calibrate correctly, it needs clean fresh air to be right

So i got the sensor out and trying to calibrate it but still no led action whatsoever. I've switch on 12v to the lc-1 without sensor then again with sensor. The sensor is doing its job by heating up though whether i know its calibrate it....

I do feel your pain with calibration. I had to go though 3 LC-1 to get one that works (with my xd16 guage). Calibration is best (as discussed) outside. Wiring is important with it also making sure it grounded properly.

Cheers

I did exactly as described in the doc.
It worked fine.

More info for you guys:

After a while, the readings went funny so without the LED I simply grounded the calibration wire with the sensor in the dump pipe to see if it would affect the readings (I had erratic readings). Anyway this fixed the problem but it quickly became erratic after a few minutes. I replaced the sensor and it was good.

So lesson learnt, leave your engine power on (which should heat up your o2 sensor) about 30 seconds to a minute before firing it up. It must be HOT before it sees any reading.

Also calibrate the sensor every service if possible. The calibration will change during the life of the sensor.

i think its calibrated alright just would of like an identification.

The readings I have seem to be good though I will do once more to be sure.
