Hi Guys,

I have decided to get a few intake manifolds together and take them to power porting in Ballarat, VIC to get them on the flow bench to compare the different types of intake manifolds we have available.

At the moment I have flow numbers for:
1, Aus spec stock + stock XF TB
2, Aus spec extrede honed + ported XF TB

I will be sending him
1, JMF drag manifold (1G runners)
2, Performance Metalworks NZ race manifold (2g runners)
3, Jspec cylone manifod (1g vr4 stock)
4, Aspec hyundai manifold (2g hyundai lantra stock)

I'm very keen on testing one of those hypertune manifolds also so if anybody has one and isn't using it atm, and is ok with sending it the me to test, it'll be good for research purposes.

Any other manifolds are welcome to be tested also! The info will help us decide on what will suit our needs.

Anyway, I will post up the results when I send the manifolds in (next week)

Here are some pictures of the JMF and PMW manifolds (Mine and Dre's)

good on ya baz! will be interbreasting to see the results

anyone got a magnus manifold they want to volunteer? :p

Nice work Baz!

But what about for us 93T guys?

You able to take down:

1. Stock gsr mani with TB 54mm
2. Stock gsr mani with vr4/ Evo 1,2,3 TB UN-ported?(want to see how much turbulance is on an unported one, with someone who has just slapped a bigger TB:p )[not me]
3. gsr mani ported for vr4/Evo 1,2,3 TB 60-63mm

Any Volunteers for 93t's?

Thanks Baz

Here's a good read as well: http://206.124.12.138/intake/ and this http://dsmsupport.com/flowchart.html

I have a 1G Magnus Motorsports intake manifold on my VR4 engine Baz. Because its a few yrs old it has flared velocity stacks inside the plenum and not bellmouthed like the newer design. Its recently been fully polished and is wrapped in gladwrap and looking schmick. If I send it to you as part of the test its not going to come back scratched to shithouse is it? :D

Here is a pic of JMF velocity stacks and they are basically the same as what my Magnus looks like: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a39/tavo_80816/1JMfrunners.jpg

FFWD connection has recently done this as well, he hasnt posted his results on his site yet though ....

I have all these bits sitting in my garage, If you wanna test the different combinations you are quite welcome to borrow them.

I can test the GSR stuff if you guys are interested.

If we can organise a drop off to me if possible?
Or if you could even drop the gear off at SPRINGY MOTORS and I will pick the gear up off them.

As for the Magnus manifold, if your interested in seeing the results, send it here!..

I'll keep it as clean as possible mate.
It'll be good to see the difference between the magnus and the new manifolds available.

That Magnus manifold on that Bushur link is different to mine as well. It looks a bit different and the velocity stacks in the Buschur linked one are a lot higher than mine, mine sit a little above the base of the intake manifold and flared out a fair bit.

OK Bazza, PM me your postage details and I'll send the Magnus over. I enlarged the Magnus supplied 65mm TB intake hole to a bigger 70mm to suit my new throttle body so it should level out the playing the field a bit as maybe in those tests earlier they were testing a 65mm Magnus intakes against 70+mm other versions?

ok mate,
I'll pm you the details now...

I managed to drop off today,
jmf
pmw
jspec cyclone vr4
aspec eci multi vr4
hyundai lantra (not sure why, but it's like a cross between a vr4 with evo ports)

will get results wednesday.

Its a go'er boyz!!. I'm posting the 1G Magnus intake and billet 70mm TB tomorrow so add one more intake manifold to the test

Pity we couldnt get a couple of my friends intakes in for testing as they are currently getting used in their cars lol. I like the look of both of them actually.
