Intake mod or not?

as im sure all of u r aware, in melbourne you are only alowed 1 intake modification ie. Pod with no cooler or cooler with no pod.
if the car comes standard with a front mount, is it still classed as a modification if u swap the stock cooler with an aftermarket one?
im sure u would have hard time trying to convince the cop trying to defect u that ur car came with a cooler, but im just curious.
ive noticed a few people clued in with the law around here so i thought i might put it out there

I guess you could argue that you just put in the new one as the old one got a hole in it, like the alluminium corroded or some shit, or you just used a bit of elbow grease to polish up your stock cooler "doesnt it look good, took me ages!"

if u keep ure stock cooler a pod is fine but u'll get a much bigger increse if u upgrade ure cooler an if youor not a goose on the road u can run both cops are more worried about boost controllers an bov's they'll let it slide you'll find unless he's an ass

Oil based pods are illegal under all circumstances in Victoria as far as the EPA are concerned and are classified as a fire hazard.

You can legally modify or swap your intercooler if it is the only modifcation in the intake on the car.

so I dont see how this 1 intake modifcation rule stands :smt017

its probably just another one of these laws that relates directly to a police officers personal "discretion" - all of which ultimately are a fucking joke in my book.

yeh i went through macleod last week i had apexi pod an it was sweet they were mopre concerned about the bov an boost controller i have walbro n all the other bits but they cant see that stuff an are hardly about t pull it apart just to look are u seriuos next we'll need an epa slip if u fart to loud

are they still doing that thing where they got 5 cops checking over ut car b4 the epa boys evan look at it at mclouds? coz no one warned me bout that and took me by suprise when i went thru there in my old ce, luckily they had a sense of humor so i got thru allright without copping back to back defects
