Intercooler piping for over the manifold

I want to fabricate my own.....I thought there might be an online store with just bends and straight pieces. I suppose I could try a metal place up here.....

You will find that by the time you have bought all the piping cut to size fab'd it up found someone to swag your ends of all the piping where silicon joiners will be.
You could of saved yourself all the crap, head aches, time, money not to menion that you will then need to dremel all the inside welds where its penitrated, and you could of just bought a factory fit off the shelf item.

I'm all for doing work yourself to save some $$$

But will it save you bucks (and quality) if doing your own pipe set?

Buy a kit like this and fabricate it yourself..

This crowd looks pretty good. I haven't dealt with them to purchase stuff but I've spoken to the guy on the phone and he seems keen to help.

What do u think about this guy dane?
I was having a look at this ebay seller.
he sells all types of bends, plus you can make ur own piping route by buying each piece by working out what pieces u need rather than a universal kit which you might have to bend etc.
looks to be pretty high quality stuff
im gonna give it a crack myself

First to be VERY clear on a few things, the reason I dont like the off the shelf piping kits is the piping route.

Ive never liked it and I think that some of the bends in the route are un-necessary and too long.

Esp the way the piping returns over the intercooler and around under the front drivers guard. AL LA Evo 1,2,3.

Ive already proved that by changing the piping route alone, knocks off 1- 1 1/2 M of piping (Ive measured it) and 1/2 sec in drag times( Ive tested it). See members rides thread....

No. 2 Is that I TRY to steer clear of bling items on my car. Im not a huge fan of shiney things even though ive got stainless piping with rough polish on them and my newish catch can(which i really want to paint black, red, white or something ). Even my bloody airbox is too shiney even though its rough for fuck sake :lol:

Some of those piping kits even though aluminium and light, are just too bright for my taste :? I actually like the raw finish of the aluminium

Before anyone mentions it, I actually do not dislike Meek's products at all. I have used them before and find them to be quite good in what they do.

So its not a matter of where I buy it from or whos good or not. Its where my tastes lie.........
