There has been a bit of talk lately about the routes intercooler piping can take and I am interested to know - do the benefits of a setup with a shorter route travelling over a very hot exhaust manifold outweigh the benefits of longer piping travelling a potentially cooler route?

I suppose you can expect more lag with longer piping but is cooler charge air better for performance?

Well put it this way.

I went from Evo-style piping route and 14.2@94MPH. To over-the manifold-short-route and 13.72@98PMH in a 2 week period! Half a second on the 1/4 mile with NO other mods :D

Got to be happy with that!

I measured the 2 routes with string and came up with about 1-1.5Metres saved in length :D

(No i dont have rogercordia secret intercooler piping kit on my car  ) :p
