Intercooler Selection

Hey guys,

Going to replace my stock aus spec cooler with something decent. Planning to run a hybrid turbo, somewhere between a 16g and a 20g compressor as far as I'm aware, up to 15psi; evo 8 injectors, j-spec computer and a chip from razza... 2.5" piping...

was thinking either an evo 1-3 cooler with 2.5" end tanks like this one (550x280x70)

Or a J-Spec cooler replica like this one... (450x230x65)

Not much price difference, but the evo cooler has a much larger suface area. Looking to install it with minimal/no cutting though.

Recommendations? Would prefer the evo one, but unsure how easily it'd fit.
I've done a fair bit of searching, and seen people installing 600x300 coolers (but some have included hacking out most of the front bar)

...? anybody? just don't want the cooler sitting lower than the bar, as the car's already pretty low.

Anyways... found this cooler instead. Should fit nicely, and is a reputable seller

I put an Evo 9 cooler in my VR4. The lowest part is at the same level as the bottom radiator support.

Thanks for that. Went with the 550x230x65mm one anyways atm. Should be easiest to fit. Feel bad getting such a small cooler...

I've just purchased the same intercooler myself - 550x230x65cm. Im having the pipes replaced with 2.5" ones then will be going to go on the dyno for a tune.

same! bought 2.5" piping seperately. Going to put it all together with all the other parts either on uni break, or take a weekend off work...
