im after some opinions on intercoolers first off at the moment i have a r34 intercooler in my gsr and its too big and impretty sure thats one cause of my turbo lag.
So im looking to change to a one a bit smaller ive been told delta fin inter coolers are good but am not sure whats the pros and cons vs just a fin style?
Also as my piping comes from both sides would it be any advantage going back to the evo style piping where it has the pipe goes back accross the top of the intercooler?
thanks dan

Whats the set up consist of so far? tdo4 or 5? you cut down alot of piping by runing it from either side so try keep it like that. If you can pick up an evo 4 5 or 6 cooler cheap I think that would be a great upgrade.

Do u have pics of the R34 cooler on your car?? i was looking at getting 1 for my Lancer, just wanted to see how it fits

what mods have you got on your car?? i was using a Hybrd 600x300x76 cooler and it flowed awesome, 2.5" cold side and 2" hot side

i have a smallish garret core that i was gonna use on my race car, needs tanks but should do the trick if interested

I find that the hybrid copy end tanks are very good , you dont get any heat soak like the factory intercoolers

I just bought a Jasma ( ARC copy ) ebay evo 1 2 3 version to see what its like , it was $165 delivered and bolts the the factory points also fingers crossed

im going to try changing the hot side piping to 2inch insted of the 3 that it has that mite make it better

3inch is way over kill, go the 2inch.
Id go in the middle, 2.5 inch or at least 2.25.
2 inch is tiny and some room to grow is better, off the top of my head, stock j-pec vr4 piping is 1 7/8 inches and vr4 RS and evo 1-3 piping is bigger again.

I noticed no loss in response going from an vr4 j-spec piping and intercooler for an evo8 cooler with 2.5 inch piping, so i wouldn't get too scared of that. I think it actually felt more responsive with my 20g.
3 inch is way too big unless its a max effort drag car.

just for now ile be changing the hot side to 2 inch down to the fm hopfully that will make it come on boost a bit earler and looking at a avcr as wel but i think the big inter coolers growing on me
