Just bought my first GSR

OK, safety check came back with the following "failed" items:

Front Suspension

  • Shocks - Soft. Lacking Control. Recommend replacement


  • Front Lower Ball joints - both heavily worn


  • Outer Tie Rod Ends - Boots torn both sides


  • Swaybar & bushes - D bushes Worn / knocking - require replacement


  • C.V. Joints - Both inner CVs worn & boots torn

Rear Suspension

  • Shocks - Soft. Lacking Control. Recommend replacement


  • Lateral Arms (Lower) - Outer bushes worn / torn


  • Swaybar & bushes - D bushes Worn / knocking - require replacement


  • Swaybar links - Links worn / knocking


  • Wheel bearings - R/H wheel bearing loose/worn

They've quoted $2,982 to fix it all!! :blink::eek:
 
all of that stuff bar the front sway bar d bushes are pretty straight forward mate.

to get to the bolts to take the bracket off you need to lower the main rack crossmember down a bit.
 
Not a problem mate. I will do it all for $2900......Kidding. Gimme a call and we will sort something out. Pedders are known for 'exagerating' on what actually needs replacing.
 
Front ball joints are a pain in the arse, has anyone figured out what needs to be done to have them replaced, apart from a new set of lower control arms?
 
I replaced both ball joints on my car, pressed the old ones out and pressed in new ones.

I have noticed a few posts saying they've changed the lower arms to fix this , I guess it helps if you have a press.

Just letting you know the ball joint alone can be replaced with a press. Edit * this is on a GSR. EVO 2 3 have a different arm.
