As my topic says, I am keen to buy blue GSR evo 7 5 speed manual in near future. I am looking for only stock or just with exhaust mod.

What are your thoughts for my choice? The look and mechanically ?

Thank you

For the price these days unless your 100% on a 7 you could pick up a JDM 8. IMO I prefer the look of the 8 over the 7.

I want to go this model also for a daily drive , or its going to be a evo x with SST trans

Ive been told that the tank is small and you have to fill up petrol alot

lacking power compared to the evo 8 and 9 ( that can be fixed )

I quite like the evo 7 look , but I would fit a evo 9 rear bar as soon as it was in my hands

you can buy them from $17k to $24k , depending on condition kms and mods, I would preffer a stock example instead of getting someones half built car

I see alot of these 7s with 2.4s also , and you already have the 5 speed setup that holds the power alot better than the 6 speed will

The 7 is a great car, but it is also beginning to get a little on the old side. Not a major issue but just make sure all the maintenance of the vehicle is spot on. Things like timing belts, regular oil/filter changes, paint maintenance etc. are critical to a car ageing well and giving you less headaches down the road. Another good sign is to look for logbooks or recepits for all the things I have just mentioned. Alot of the time the odometer doesn't tell you the whole story. Look for wear level on the steering wheel and gearknob, cleanliness of the engine bay etc.

All the above goes for purchasing any car, but age (especially in a performance vehicle) compounds things even more. I have personally found it really hard to find a clean, close to original Evo that has been carefully maintained. When I looked for an Evo 8 MR, it took me forever to find a good one.

Once you do though, the premium price you pay for the car should save you in the long run.

BTW I think the 7's look nicer than my 8MR in many ways.

Thanks for your thoughts.
I choose 7 because i like the shape and i prefer 5 speed gearbox over 6 speed.
I'm not in a hurry and can wait for nice blue only one. I may be lucky because i know someone who imports them.
Btw: this will only be my cruiser and only with minor mods like exhaust filter and fine stock ecu tune.

Thank you

I found nice silver one with 42000km in very clean condition in and out, just imported stock. From dealer that gives 3 yrs warranty (parts and labor) Dealers price $26k
I offered $22k.
Is my offer to much for evo 7?

Thank You

Sometimes you have to pay that little bit more to get the car that you really want... especially if you've been waiting a while to find a prime example of it.
If you're after a schmick example to use as a daily and not to modify it, then IMO go for it and try to keep it original. But if your intent is to modify it then get one that's already been raped.
It really plays on your mind whether to keep an original condition OEM car in pristine condition because it can be an indecisive mind fuk and ruin your plans
When cars are new they all look the same and people get fond of the stand-outs. But as time goes on it has a wierd way of making the schmick originals stand out from the crowd and be more sort after ;)
Plus a great OEM condition sports car gets just as much admiration from other owners as a highly modified one ;)

usually a special order E7 would be about $22 to $24 k , but a 3 year warranty is not a bad thing , the motor could blow up and it should be covered

I have seen a few cars snap a timing belts and also blow the turbo just after compliance also
