Kelford Cams???

i have kelford now. 264 / 272 and i can say they work very nice indeed.

kelfords insrease the lift from 9.8mm to 11.2mm buy using the std springs you will get spring bind. hence why you have to change the springs. And realisticly you dont need titanium retainers, your steel ones will be fine, providing you havent smashed any valves recently. :shock:

also if you haven't changed your lifters , get a new set from MEEK they are cheap as chips.

I got my springs and cams landed $1070 I think the HKS are $1100 just for the cams.
I'm sure you could find them cheaper though (the HKS that is)

I know a kiwi rally mate that swears by Kelfords, they did a very custom cam for his rally car (a Toyota though).
Jetgsr, did they provide you with all the data needed to set the cams up properly? (ie. x thou lift at y degrees of timing).

what are the 264/272's like to drive on, and where do they seem to move the power to?
 
i damaged a piston the other day, so it is in for a freshen up but very nice to drive - not too lumpy at idle and nice power delivery

I was very impressed it pulled from 3500 to redline (7500)

but about to upgrade the 20g to a 35R so the whole smooth power delivery might change.

howd u damage a piston???? power to 7500 yummy i doubt it will be long before i damage a piston lol touch wood...infact hold onto to wood for dear life
 
not sure how yet as it is still looking at me in the block.

part of the top ringlan is missing, I'm assuming DET couldn't hear any though.

but 1 2 3 are perfect and no signs of DET I could have a slack injector, I will find out more when it comes apart.

Jetgsr, I'll have my rally car built before you ever get that thing running reliably. :D

Time to put an exhaust temp probe in each exhaust runner and tune each cylinder individually by using different size injectors?
 
haven't stripped the motor yet that happening tomorrow (friday)

well just for your info and no this isn't the thread to do it!

But hows a GT3082 sound and 4 new cp pistons all the BC again but i'm guessing about 3 weeks and it will run!!

I got the pistons today and pickup the turbo and w/gate tomorrow(friday)

So do you need a 20g to go with your kelford cams?
 
Does anyone know if Jorel removed the cams? I own the car now but there was no mention of it having cams and it's not very lumpy at all.
 
It was more the fact that the cams weren't mentioned by either Hiran who I bought the car off or Jorel when he advertised the car. It seems this cars been through a few people. I've been going through old threads trying to piece it all together to see what's been done to it haha had more luck with 1000 piece puzzles!
 
Is anyone still in contact with Jorel? I'd love to know if the cams are still in place coz I was planning to get some cams!
