my 4g93t has developed a knocking which i belive is the crank bearings current spec is stock engine wise with evo 3 turbo, injectors maf and throttle body
evo 3 fmic ported inlet and exhaust and cat back exhaust system and a cheap intake filter .

now my dilemma is do i rebuild this engine with forged rods and pistons which i cant seem to find supplyers for here in the uk and not many tuned 93ts over here at all so not sure wat need to be done at certain power levels.

or swap a 63t in and do a rod job and evo 9 pistons which is a safe set up to around 550 bhp not that i will ever want that much power...

thanks in advance
Rich

comes down to how much you wanna spend. the 2ltr would be the easier option because you can make 300hp without putting forged pistons, i have just built the 1.8 and boy i have spend alot more than i wanted to spend and could of done the 2ltr, but i like the might 1.8 and dont wanna be a 2ltr cheat :p

use the 4g63...

i have just spent way too much on a 4g93. It is an expensive little sucker to build and the results arent that spectacular for the money that went in. The biggest difference is the torque levels are noticeable lower when driving two car that are the same except for the engines

so thats 2 for the 4g63 only thing im thinkin of with the 63 is im goin to have to buy an base engine with every thing to do with the conversion plus i want to make the engine future proof with forged rods and the later 9 pistons before putting it in where ive already got the 93 sat in the car so already have the engine to start with
