Hey guys, just an inquiry for the guys "in the know"

when i was launching at calder i found that i was getting heaaaps of tramping as soon as i dumped the clutch

i was launching anywhere between 5500-6500rpm just trying different things to see if i could get it a bit better but wasnt having much luck.

any ideas? or is this just normal?

better shocks will help tramping to an extent.

what are you running?

could you tell if it was front or back or at both ends?

im running tien coil-overs atm

i couldnt really say for sure but it seemed to be more front but sometimes it was both ends

too be honest i didnt click onto the fact that it was tramping till afterwards. like, i felt it but in my mind i just didnt realise thats what it was lol too much adreniline going i guess lol

yeh i thought about adjusting the damper but wasnt sure if it would do anything

if its tramping then the spring is not being kept under control by the shock, more shock should stop the spring wobbling, give it a try by increasing the shock pressure gradually until it stops tramping otherwise it will go to far towards firm and you will loose traction

yeh that may play a big roll in too come to think of it.
they are set as low as they will go so i wouldnt rule that out

Get somebody to spot you from outside.

Watch the weight distribution and work with your heights.

Usually you'd want the rears to be up higher on fwd cars. I personally think that we should be doing the same and trying to get the fronts to grap as much as the rears.

You could try to get the rears to squat, but then you'll sacrificing the grip up front. Either way you have to find a balance.

If you are getting bunny hopping up front, say goodbye to your driveshafts. They are the worse killer.

How is your launch controll? have you had a chance to play with that?
Antilag? which we dont really need, you can get about 15psi with -30 timing on LAUNCH.

good to see a vr4 still in the game running down the black strip!!

I wish I was there to join ya!
