hey guys recently i've noticed a light ticking noise on idle.. as soon as i engage the clutch it goes away.. i've been told it does no harm but it does get annoying..

any ideas on what it could be and how i could get rid of it?

cheers

noise lifters are a common problem in the cc orientated 4g's, especially the 93t. no matter what oil you use, what additives you put in it is almost inevidable that some lifter noise will be present...

the best fix... get yourself some lifters out of a ce orientated 4g93t... these have larger holes in them which makes it harder for dirt or clumbs to build up...

Its your lifters in the head acting up cos' oil grade too thin or using other oil brand not recoommend for 4G. What oil do you use in car and when do you have car serviced?. I've heard 10-40w castrol magnetec or TITAN CFX 10W30 or TITAN PERFORMANCE PLUS 1540Semi-S is the grade to use with 4G93/63 and ticking wont come back after 3-6 months. Try

I thought that too. Most people must instantly think lifters when ticking is mentioned.

Isn't that a problem with the clutch bearing?

Clutch thrust bearing is starting to wear.

it's a nonissue.

it'll tick for a bit, eventually it'll become a metal on metal grinding sound and you've still got a good 30,000km left in it at that stage. Don't get your back up, just put it on your list next time you replace your clutch.

lol i guess @ 1:37am bout to sleep isnt a good time to post a msg bout the clicking noise for me. I'll go with release bearing need to be replaced, its a simple replacement. Around $12 you get a new piece and labour cost dont know. Any correct me if im wrong.
(Q) btw on cold start my bearing makes like a slight noise (neutral & clutch depressed) is it cos it need to be changed or regreased?
