LSV Car Insurance

Help Support 4GTuner:

Still better service than you get through shitcars. The wrx is through them and we're swapping ASAP. Having a vehicle specific excess of $1000 because it has "WRX" on the badge is bullshit.

rock it. Just so you know. LSV no longer do modified cars.. They will continue to renew your policy but they wont take on new business.. I had a previous car with them.. Went to change the car and they said no.

What a pain.. So they should not be Lumley Special Vehicles... Just Lumley Vehicles now... Lol...

Thats crap, I told them I got done speeding last year doing 72kmh in a 60 zone on Pennant Hills Rd Sydney and he didnt say shit. He said it didnt effect my cover at all. Maybe they dont like insuring you Adrian because YOU ARE HIGH RISK! lol :w00t::p

Im over 30 and it costs me a little over $800 per year for full cover at value of $20,000. Even though I had receipts and proof for spending over double that, they class the converted coupe as a GSR/EVO replica and said that if it ever is a write-off I should be able to buy another decent GSR with the money and transfer my useable parts over lol.. smart c*nts they are. $20,000 wont ever replace the AWD coupe or the money spent on it, but it is at least better than nothing and not insuring it. Im glad I dont pay $2500+ per annum like some people do.

its not crap robbo, its what they said to me , they went through the questions on the phone and got to the part where they ask if you have had any tickets in the last 5 yrs and i didnt think anything of it, so i said yeah i got caught speeding about 2 yrs prior about 80 in a 70 zone and they stopped the phone conversations right there and said we cannot proceed any further cause u are deemed "high risk"

jumped on the phone to just cars right after it and was signed up in 5 mins for agreed value

i think you're just too old rob, u must be on some pensioner thing with them?? seniors discount perhaps??

IM with just cars, they say they will insure "any mods" as long as you tell them and its "legal".
But thats where they apprently stitch people up.

I asked if i need permits on all mods and they said no. And asked how i prove that mods are legal and i got no real answer. "Its up to me to make sure its all legal." So i try to do that.
They make it sound like you can do what you want but ive heard they get out of paying out by picking things that are illegal mods.

I rang shannnons, said i had two excessive noise charges, 2 years ago but no speeding fines and they quoted me 2400. So i must be "high risk."

With just car its ~1100 as i have 55% no claim bonus.
With 450 standard excess
and 600 for being male 22-24

But i added on 1100 on top of the normal excess to drop my premium to 690 a year.
So my excess is 2150!! But i pay less each year.

Its good but i'd still like to change as ive heard bad stories about just car.

and for $50 extra a yr you get to claim 1 crash a yr which doesn't affect your premiums the next yr (if that makes sense)

Does that mean, you pay 50 bucks extra a year and if you have a crash you wont loose you no claim bonus?

If so that pretty good if you on a good no claim bonus like my, I'm on 55% no claim bonus, loose that and my premium doubles.

Lumley now will only do what they deem as "Classic" vehicles.. 25years and older.. and only then can you also insure a standard vehicle on that policy because your classic car will be the car you only drive 2 - 3 times a week at the most..

I think you'll find it varies state to state jase.
I think you'll find it doesn't. I know someone in Sydney with an Evo 7 insured by Shannons who was under 25 at the time.

You'd be surprised how much having a CAMS license can help you get insurance.

Oh, funny that. My cams L2S is uptodate and i've done defensive, advanced and high speed driving courses as well as competitive stages in motorsport events.

Again, it -does- vary state to state. I'm in Victoria. You won't get shannons to insure you in vic for anything reasonable under the age of 25. NSW, SA different apparently, half your luck.

not sure if its called the no claim bonus, but when you first insure your car or when renewal time is around they ask you if you want to take this thing out for $50 and you can have 1 claim in the yr and your premiums wont go up the following renewal.

just as an experiment im going to call shannons today and see if they can beat just cars.

Yeah I spose it sucks if you're under 30 yrs of age because you'll be considered high risk if you've had fines for speeding before. Maybe get your car insured in your parents name and have you listed as the youngest driver on the policy?

that shit doesnt work anymore, now they just quote the premium to the youngest driver on the policy...

Relax Lorrie. I believe you.

well i called shannons, they were about $300 a yr cheaper but there was no "agreed value" lol they just told me "we will be willing to offer you $15,000" which is a lot less than just cars offer me.

both just cars and shannons told me that if there was a crash my car would be inspected by the rta and if there were any illegal mods i wouldnt get a cent. so make sure your cars are engineered.!!!

Dude. Whatever.

If you're referring to the SAE car from deakin in '06 then yes, that's a full carbon fibre racecar with a 660 cc turbocharged motorbike engine running a motec. It wasn't my families, it was partly SPONSORED by our business among a number of others. It also had nothing to do with cams. At all. I'm pretty sure if you goto Deakin's engineering dept, it and the next 2 cars after that will still be there if it wasn't stripped down for parts. I know that car competed in 07 as well but I wasn't at deakin in 07.

Talk about digging up cobwebs.

RMIT's SAE car is also full carbon fibre as is woolongong uni's and adelaide uni's.
