Ok Guys I am at my wits end with this damn ecu and I need some help.

Firstly here is the background info

CC Lancer with VR4 conversion and have just installed and Adaptronic ecu - no you probably have never heard of it - have a look here for more info http://www.adaptronic.com.au

Issue - Random missfire at idle and low rpm low load (spiking lean on AFR curves) - have tried many things to get rid of it - tuning fuel/ignition, resoldered connections etc... Basically I have exausted my knowledge of such things...

I think it may be due to poor triggering and so need some specific information about the VR4 CAS and ignition system...

There are two outputs from the CAS - one has four equal windows/rev and one has two unequal windows/rev

1. Does the engine fire on the rising or falling edge of the 4 pulse output
2. Does the ignition reset on the rising or falling edge of the 4 pulse output
3. What are the angles of the two windows BTDC - I have that they are 75 and 6 but i'm not sure if this is correct as this came from a 4G93 NA setup and from someone else.

Any other specifics would be greatly appreciated.

ALSO anyone who HAS an aftermarket ecu on their VR4 (engine) can you please give me the contact details of the person or company who installed it set it up tuned it etc.... So I can try to sort this out..

Cheers Guys

Please search/read the other threads on ECU's that are currently in discussion. They have details of places that install/tune wolf/etc. You will also find (if you dig deep) information relating to the square wave ignition sequence.

*passes you a big big big shovel*

Keywords might be "WOLF 3d" "Errol" "Errol Flynn" "rank" etc. :D

Just an update on Jeremys car.

It died in the arse :( ECU carked it.....

New board on its way.

Im sure he can explain better

Adaptronic units - yeah pretty unimpressed with the quality of manufacture. The software and documentation are very good - but the unit looks like it was put together by a one armed chinese kid in a sweatshop. Not very robust.

We'll see how it goes with the new board. Hopefully that fixes the problem
