making overseas purchases

hey guys.
i'm just wondering if anyone knows about this...
i'm looking at buying some stuff of guys in New Zealand, but if they don't have paypal, how do you transfer the money to them?

You have to pay the rip off merchants (banks) a $25-30 fee to send an telegraphic transfer over to NZ.

Or you can give me the money and I can pay it for you, I have an NZ bank account.

lets say an item sells for NZ$100, would I have to do a currency conversion (works out at AU$90), and then send $90 to the kiwi bloke?

Is that how it works?

And are the bank transfer charges based on how much your transferring, or a base fee? Im guessing you cant use online banking?

Also, I want to sign up to trade me to be able to ask sellers questions, but I have to pay the $10 fee. Have others done this? It doesnt really give any instructions for australian customers, so Im assuming you can pay with credit card and its all good?

i decided to pay my $10 and sign up. Paid with credit card, the process all went smoothly. Although it seems i cant become "address verified" as i do not live in NZ. Im guessing this is only necessary for sellers and purchases over $5k.

Ill let you know if I bid and win win anything.
