Mechanic suggestion for my Mitsubishi GTO

Hi guys can someone help me out. I had taken my GTO to a mechanic shop called as MTEK in Airport West, Melbourne. He had my car there for nearly two months and charged me more than double the price he quoted. I went in for 100,000 km service and this guy ripped out my heads, did some other work in the bottom end of the car. When I went o pick it up finally after almost two months gives me the bill and tells me all this stuff needed to be done otherwise I would have a serious problem. After all that my car broke down on the way back from the mechanic shop the same evening. He never answered my calls. My car has been sitting in my garage from the past couple of months and it saddens me everyday looking at it.
Can someone please suggest me a nice mechanic in Melbourne area. I seriously want my car fixed. And please I suggest no one to go to this mechanic shop called MTEK they are the biggest cheats and I guarantee that justice will be done.

There is a mechanic on the sponsors thread named George who is really good. Bit far away from u though. Kamikaze in nunawadding are generally pretty good.

Really though it depends on the problem. Im sure someone here could help diagnose symptoms at least

Shreeni, ate they MTA accredited? Isnt there supposed to be some sort of warranty on an engine rebuild? check the receipt.

That is terrible!
I would visit them and chat to them first. Keep it civil.
If that fails, go to fair trade..

I've seen a few GTO's (3000gts) go to Springy Motors.
I've always loved those cars.
One day I'll own one.. lol.. want to sell yours?

Gianni so you reckon kamakazee motors have you been there before. I am just so sick of these mechanics trying to swindle people for money. I am new to the site any idea how I can look for George the mechanic you have suggested.
The problem with the car trust me there was none. It was not inthe the workshop for a rebulid. All it went in was for a 100,000 km service, change oil, timming belt, and all the little bits and pieces.

This guy was so bad that after all what happened and when I was driving back and the car started smoking from the bonnett area on kings way I had to get it towed to my house and when I was calling him he didnot pick up my calls. Then after a few days I tried from a private number and he picked up and then started giving all excuses. He then got my car towed to his garage and after a week and a half said it was ready to pick up. When I went to pick it up he asked me to go for a test drive. By the time me and my friend got back to the shop to tell him the same problem is happening again he shut shop and did a runner.
I have already gone to the consumer affairs. they could not get in touch with him as his phones are all disconnected. they have advised me to go to vcat. which I am seriously thinking off.
The thing is I donot have a car and it is causing so much pain to move around. So I was thinking I will get it fixed and then the case will keep going on.
Any idea where this springy motors is Bazeng.
Please help me guys.

Sorry to hear about the ordeal. Have you spoken to other GTO owners? Find out where they bring their cars.

My old housemate used to work there they do lots of imports. Not sure if dodgy or not. My housemate wasn't. But the rest cones from what owners say and allow their workers to do. As dean said contact people who have ur ride and find out where they take theirs
