I was thinking of buying it, just to save a lot of hassles in making my own.

That, and aluminium is a lot lighter than stainless.

And for $550, it seems like a decent price

So, is anyone using it? Or does anyone have any (educated) opinions on it? :?:

Thanks

550 is just for the pipes. You then have to get the silicone, which on his website will be upwards of 250 bucks, and the hose clamps, which will be an extra 60 odd bucks............

**** that for a joke.

go to TRIKFAB 8)

It will be better made anyway.

I can get silicon and clamps from autobarn or bunnings...?

Ive seen the kit in person.. its light its nice and well made.. however the attention to detail isnt the best.. where the bov bolts up the overlap on the aluminium isnt grinded back so its a smooth entry.. the throttle body is the same as that. Other then those comments theres not much else.. its a nice kit.. bit price IMHO but its good if you cbf makign your own.

Silicon is about $160 a metre (not that you will need that)
Clamps $20 - $40
Silicon bends $100 each (i think the meek kit uses 2 of them)

Things to remember, Aluminium heat soaks like a bitch compared to stainless.

Stainless is marginally heavier, but will produce far better performance.

Mild steel will perform better again but the weight offsets it and it looks like arse.

it heatsoaks, but it also dissipates heat quicker as well yeah?

i could use heatwrap?

It heat soaks and that heat goes into your engine.

Heatwrap woudl make it weigh as much as mild steel, you may as well have just used mild, it'd have cost less too.

stainless is much cheaper for me to use
but the mucking around with bends and making the piping is what im trying to avoid

If you want silicon, call Colrain Truck Parts in Ballarat, ask for Mick. Tell him you're a member of BTICC and you'll get it at cost. BTICC is a ballarat car club. I guess you can just ******** your way in. :D

I can POSSIBLY get it for you when I get back, but no promises.

fark that....

aluminium is the best material for IC piping. it may heat up quicker than stainless, but it cools down a shitload quicker too.

As far as heatsoak goes, Stainless is actually worse, because once it heats up, it stays hot. The aluminium would only be HOT HOT on boost.

stainless for exhaust, aluminium for IC piping

aluminium also weighs a shitload less.

i thought it was supposed to "reflect" the heat but I may have it the wrong way around.

I thought heat wrap was supposed to keep the heat in the pipe and stop it from escaping

Or Out

Which will be hotter, Engine Bay or IC Air ?
Id have wrap them anyday (in the engine bay ones), id be thinking more heat would be put into the pipes then would get out (Thermal dynamics ;) hehe )

personally, for time, get the meek kit but...
not a bad price either..

trickfab is awesome, but u need to leave the car for a while..

alloy / stainless... i personaly dont think there is much difference apart from weight.. stainless isn't 100% rust proof..... i'd go alloy anyday..

never go mild..

as for ceramic coating.. not cheap.. for example, a manifold was 180 to coat..

yeah, i want something that i can just bolt on over the weekend

im going to try and get dre's old piping and cooler from dan, but he hasnt replied to my pm yet
