Heya all

So a thought.
I always have my mirrors folded in unless I'm driving, and figured it would be easier to simply have them open and close upon ignition.

obviously I'd need a relay and what not, but just thinking what else would be required?
As the mirrors dont need contant power to open and close, I suspect I'd need a timer of sort to stop the 12v constantly going through the relay.

Anyone any thoughts on how to attack this?

dunno bout mitsi mirrors, but in my old car the folding mirrors folded in an out by reversing the current
eg, open would be +ve to #1 an -ve to #2
closing would be -ve to #1 an +ve to #2
dunno if that helps or confuses ya more or even if its relative to mitsi's but its as simple as i could explain it an thort it might help,
good luck man sounds like a top idea especially for the city dwellers

I dont know how but the new Pajeros, colts basically all the mits's, unfold after you start driving if you forget, so it should be able to be done

Sounds like power windows.

Wondering if those automatic window closers would do the trick then....
If I could modify that somehow.
Lucky we sell those at work, so might grab one from the warehouse.

Might also test the voltage coming from the plug to see what's going on there to, might give me a bit more insight.

Cheers

I had it the folding mirrors wired like that in my cc coupe because i didn't have the evo folding module.. It makes the factory folding switch redundant though..

You need a DPDT relay, and maybe a relay for each mirror if you can't get a DPDT big enough..

Instead of Acc, put it on Ignition.

yea thats exactly what they were like, an yea checkin whats coming out the plug will tell ya how they work, how did i not think of that sooner! haha

paul, your a gun, might try it, 1 day

That's a good easy way of doing it.
I suppose I could always add an over ride switch, which I would like to have for some case,
four wheel driving for one.

Might try that with a bypass switch to redirect voltage/ current back to the factory switch.
