Hi guys was thinking of going for a run over my nebo and mt glorious soon just wondering if anyone else would be keen. Thinking early morning before it gets to hot and the road gets to busy etc etc and head out through fernvale and the lakes and come back through the gap. If anyone is keen let me know

Ive head that the police do pop out there a bit due to the drifters tearing it up? shame becaue mt glorious is a sweet drive from what Ive head from other people, Im yet to have gone out there. My old man takes his Triumph 675R bike out that way with his mates and they love it.

Cops love that road, mostly because of clowns that think its a personal race track and bike riders that make a habit of going over the edge.
Most forums don't allow mountain runs to be organised.
If there is even a sniff of possible illegal driving mentioned here ill kill the thread.
Don't forget that the police frequent most forums.

Sorry Brisvr4 didn't realize that. Your welcome to pull the thread if you want. I too don't break any laws on the road. If I want to drive fast I've always gone to a track in the past but I can see how some guys may take it as a reason to race

no where near confident enough in my own driving to want to risk breaking speed limits on an unfamiliar mountain road. i do however enjoy a inice twisty road and scenery

I dont know what time you guys start work, but alot on the Clubman driver head up first in the morning on a Monday/Tuesday have a coffee at the top and head back. For the reason of Police presence, due to unruly behavior from Bikes/drifters/wannabes/Knobs etc (plus most are also retired), and unfortunately everyone gets targeted in with the same tarred brush...even if your doing the right thing, plus its a bit of a captive audiance situation up there and really need a "scout" to check out ahead if your worried about defects(even noise, which I bet most are guilty off).
Ive done a run up there before, awesome drive, but found I needed to watch for on coming traffic more than the road especially in the afternoons when most are coming home cutting blind corners.
I believe most do just go for a drive cause of the roads and the destination, but few stuff it up for everyone. And it common to find the Ambulance up there stretchering someone away.
Id be keen if I lived closer.

Nigel, your a nana driver everywhere! Lol
Adrian, that post wasn't directed at you, more of a general hint for everyone to not be stupid out there :)

Like Mo (mdk87) trying to fly with his Hyundai. It is quite a dangerous road too. Out of all the times I've been, only once there wasn't someone having an accident.

Nigel - I think you'll like going through Samford just past the hairpins.

I'll be keen if I ever get the car running - before xmas fingers crossed. I usually go on late night runs though, good headlights will assist you dearly. Daytime, either you get nana drivers worse then nigel or a pack of cyclists and police too.

I was thinking just before Chrissy I'd prefer to go early morning close to say break while the air still is quite dense and not too hot. Not to sure though if that's a dangerous time for kangaroos though as gsr vs kangaroo would probably end in tears

Why is it that you bums come out from under your shell when I am out of the country?
Pfft!

I think you all drive like nanas,
I've been driving that road for nearly 20years
We have always prefered night time. less traffic and you can see on coming traffic better.

biggest problem it all the loosers and bikes keep breaking them selves and falling off the edge. Now the police patrol the roads all the time, I cant really blame the residents, they moved there to get away for the city hussle and bussle.

The great thing about Nebo is you dont have to drive like a lunatic to have fun.
but like hypo said we are all tard with the same brush in the polices eyes.

seriously best to pick a different road!
