HI all, im ditchn the 93... yuk

my new setup ( to be installed asap )

vr 4 4g63 engine
510cc inj evo 2 afm and fuel pump
front mount cooler
hd clutch
3" exaust
evo 2 turbo ( rebuilt )
and stil the get the actuator from gt pumps that will give me 18psi ( i want this over the boost controller because om over defects.. keepings the car legal

oh and a micto tech after market ecu, so ill need somewhere good to tune it all, any suggestions andd a price i could be looking a for a tune???

rough power i could expect??

in my car, all it had was an apexi cat back exhaust, fujitsubo front pipe and a hks filter..

boost was at 14psi and i made 149kw..

it was a 4g63 from an evo 2.

maztech are the gurus with microtech.

Which one do you have?
I believe price is about 350 to 700 dollars..

My guess is 160kw's at the wheels!?!?

i been running the 93 to get it back on the road an regoed. nar its not yellow. not yet anyways

would i benifit alot from 272 cams can cam gears??

am i pushing the bottom end with 18psi?

93t's are pretty decent motors, if it aint broke why fix it?

Also, thought you were going aftermarket turbo with an external gate manifold?

Hang on, you say you're over defects and want to keep the car legal, but you're fitting a Microtech?

Isn't having an aftermarket computer defectable?

very much so! you need an ECMLink to stay 'legal'.

From the mentioned mods you're probably looking at the 180(?)kW atw region.

I got 149kW atw running stock boost and pretty much stock everything else.

cams will push your power up top end, lose a bit of quick spool from the 16g but not much,
i run 22 psi daily on my evo 2 engine and it cops abuse fine, thats tuned with a ecmlink
if the tunes fine im sure they can handle what the turbo can feed

i know an after market ecu is illegal, i was under the impression that people can run them and keep it looking good enuff not to be picked up .........eg dummy fitted afm.

i havnt done a after marke ecu yet so ill work it out as i go. what are some of the things i need to do keep it looking "legal" lol

ok... so are you suggestion for the setup i intend to run the stock ecu and loom will be just fine???
coz id prob go that direction then

Im running a VR4 63T, with a haltech, 14psi (Was tuned with a boost tap so spikes to 17) an only getting 132 kilowats atw, alot less than i was expecting to be honest!!

Best way to keep it "legal" is to fit an aftermarket chip to a factory VR4 ECU - e.g. an ECMLink chip installed in a VR4 ECU.

You just tell them what injectors, MAF, etc you are running, and they'll provide you with a chip.

IMO a lot cheaper than running an aftermarket ECU, a lot less of a headf*ck because there's no re-wiring to do, and it all looks above board.

Also, I feel the results are just as good in terms of power output as what you'd get running a Haltech, Microtech, etc.

An advantage with the ECMlink chip is that they are "tunable" i.e. you can change data values, etc.

It's not just a burnt chip that's not changeable.
