Hi people.

Im in need of a MLS head gasket for my 4G93t.

I have CP pistons which sit .3mm over so im needing a mls with at 5 layers or 1.5mm.

Does anyone know where i can get one and possibly how much??? Or if you are someone who stocks or sells this part, could you please pm me.

Need this yesturday, as car has less than 2 weeks to be put back together and ready for first meet.

Cheers guys.

Ive read threads on here as well where people have been stuck with the same issue, but there hasnt been any resolution.

Surely someone knows someone etc etc.

An option (may not be the best in everyones eyes) - some companies do a spacer e.g. block - spacer - head gasket - head.

I know that rpm do a 1mm spacer for the 93. So spacer plus mivec MLS gasket = 1.6mm

Thanks guys. Trav was ok help, but wasnt to sure on where i could sorce one from. The other option, other than putting a spacer in would be to just use 2 or possibly 3 mls gaskets. They measure up to .4mm so in total with 3 would be 1.2mm. Which should give me clearence... ?

What about using a graphite gasket. I mean, that was what we took out. Is it wrong to be using one of those??? It would make things alot easier. And the motor was built with rods, cp pistons, cams etc etc and they used this gasket.

Any more suggestions people?

Thanks

Im sure that you could source something similar from NZ:

Haha. ive seen them too. They look alright as well, but im having a real hard time trying to get a hold of someone to talk to about it. I have to become a member of some sort of club at first just to email someone, who im waiting to email me back. Do you know of anyone in NZ that I can speak too?

And thanks again for the help mate.

try cometic. they make various thickness gaskets. Ring MEEK.

Meek gave me a MLS already, but its only .4mm, and thats all they supply.

Cometic Ive emailed, waiting to hear back

actually there more reliable brand for metal head gasket that`s available in malaysia....here also have various thickness starting 1.2mm - 1.8 mm thickness...... i think you should just put in 1.8mm thick for future upgrade....

Well iyou can getone, ill pay you an extra $50 more than what they want from me to get it here by the end of the week!!! Spoke to some guy from there via email, and he hasnt got back to me so far...

I bought one from STA parts "nz" (about 9 months ago)
Part number is #BT890MH, I got them to air freight it over, was 2 to 6 days.

I think the head gasket was about 1.5mm thick, but ask them to measure it for you, its multilayered 5 or 6 cant remember.

I have attached two photos so u can see the headgasket

Thanks Smutt. Ive tried to call these guys, but they dont answer there phone. Ive emailed them afew times now, just hope they get back to me quick.

5 or 6 layer will amount to 1.5mm for sure, so its what im after. The question is, would it be quicker to get one from STA or from Full Throttle in Malaysia??? :(

Man, I hope this thing comes together!!!

There is a member on here building a nuts drag 93T, I forget who it is though. Surely he has a strong headgasket?

Silly question, but have you called them during their business hours (time difference and all)?
I spoke to a guy called "Jimmy".
This gasket is good for high boost

I will only need the one for now, but it'd be good to know a contact over there in case of future problems pop up like this for someone else in Oz.

A guy called Raymond from malaysia emailed me saying its $101.60AUD for a gasket landed in Oz, but didnt specify what size or delivery time. He just gave me his bank account details and said once deposited to let him know. Sounds fishy but its only $100 and im in need of one now. If you know some one over there who you have delt with before, send him an email for me if you can or something of th sort and pass on my email. [email protected].

Cheers for the help mate.

An update for anyone who may go through this in the future. Ive had to sorce this head gasket from STA Parts (segedin truck and auto parts) New Zealand.
This is for a 1.5mm MLS head gasket for a 4G93t
The cost and the way to do this is as follows. Make a cheque out in NZ dollars for $115. This covers you for the gasket which is $80 NZ and for $35 charge for 3 day freight to Australia.
Note, cheque must be done a t the branch in which you bank with and must be an international exchange cheque.
Turn around time for this isnt quick, 3 to 5 days to get the money to them, 3 to 5 days for it to clear, 3 to 5 days for it to arrive in Australia, on the basis that they dont sit on the cheque for a week as well, so give you self plenty of time before doind what i have done, strip an engine and have it sit in a workshop taking up space.
Any questions guys and gals, just pm me.
WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!!
(should have just bought a car with a 63 in it!!!) :fuuuuu:
