Hi all,

Need to replace my clutch slave cyclinder in my gsr and was wondering if i have to get a gsr specific one? or can i use one from either an evo or standard cc lancer?

Also, is it hard to do? and if not, has anyone got a guide or will be able to post a quick break down of what i'd need to do?

Thanks

Meta

welcome, look here, it is pretty much the same. i put clutch pedal down slightly (1" or so) to stop the fluid all flowing out when you undo pipe.
my jumbuck 2wd is the same as gsr awd, so i reckon that there are heaps of ones that will fit. ie, proton, magna, lancer, sonata, i think excel use same 2wd gearbox.
dont get 2nd hand tho as my 70000k proton one was leaking. i went to the brake spares place and got a seal for around $5 and honed cylinder. they do exchange ones for around $50

Hey mate,

Thanks for the reply, the only trouble i'm having now is trying to find the slave cylinder, i've tried following the lines from the master cylinder, but yeah, can't seem to spot it, any suggestions where it could be?

Thanks again

It's held on by two bolts at front of gearbox. Exactly opposite to where the starter motor is but on other side of flywheel. It has a push rod which opens the clutch. :)

There is 2 bolts and one line to undo...remove the shit slave, put the new one in and replace 2 bolts, screw line in and tighten then bleed it..piece of piss. If you follow the step by step guide, which has been given to you already in Jacks post-you can't go wrong..We can't make it any easier than that for you!

May the force be with you....!!

lol, thanks Jamo, i'll probably get around to it later this week, just have to get the part now which should be interesting, townsville is a bitch for parts lol

Not that bad really.
Its WHO you know not WHAT you know ;)

Have you got Geoff's old white Gsr parked at 10 frisbee?? :p

Is the evo II slave the same as a standard lancer slave ?

I have done this before but I can't remember how I resolved it. It was 20 years ago. Thanks
