Hey Guys

Ive got a manual 4G63T RVR SSG with some usual mods (T3T4, 38mm Gate, 500hp fuel pump, 510's, NA intake manifold and Throttle Body, FMIC, straight thru exhaust, Gizzmo IBC and Apexi SAFC). Had it in for a tune and came out not too bad with 191KW or 256Hp on only 12.5PSI.

i was hoping to run around 18-20 PSI and for anything over 320Hp (to beat my bro's VR4 :thumbsup:) but cam across the problem of apparently the factory fuel maps being to low and if anymore boost was added it would start cutting.

firstly has anyone else run into this problem??
and aside from going with a fully tuneable ECU (im only 19 dont have heaps of $ :thumbsdown:) what would be my best options??

do EVO 1-3 or VR4 ECU's plug straight in??

hey dude,


how have you got the 510cc working? just using the SAFC?

you can make evo 1-3 ecu's work using your head and a wiring diagram. then you can get that chipped to remove the fuel (boost) cut, or even install a ecmlink.

are you on any nz forums? mmc/msport?
 
Nice set-up dude. Just came across a guy selling an evolink for a very good price in the for sale section of these forums, might be worth looking into as it's a fully tunable ecu via the hand controller. Seems a better option than mucking around with standard ecu's and chips. Wont be heaps to ship it over to NZ either.:thumbsup:

And are your plates MANWHR...as in man whore??? wtf if so......:huh:
 
Yea the 510's are just off the SAFC, is there any other way of running them??

and yea im on Msport but they dont have the same dedication to the RVR like you guys do here :)

and yea have PM'd the guy about the evolink and in the process of getting in touch with Link, if i could get a plug adaptor i would definately be keen unless its not to much of a mish to change the factory plug to an evo one??

as for the plate yes it is manwhore lol cost me 100buks and suited the car when i first got it as i had painted the factory wheels black and tinted it out. i do agree it is a time for a change.

yea thought you could have chipped your ecu.

evolink is just a plug in link (g3/g4 etc) ecu (link electro systems), i was meaning ECMLink

i have a mate with a G4 and a evo 3 adapt link in his rvr, work well.

ECMLink is like a chip that gets put into your ecu that then turns it into a fully programmable ecu computer.

What sort of power is your mates RVR making with a G4??

do you have any more info on the ECMLink like cost, maybe where i might be able to source one??

ECM Link is the way to go. I have done it to my RVR ecu. If u search through the posts u will find the one I made on it. U will need to have the right ECU to use it though so check it out first. Tom of ECM in the states is very helpfull and will answer any qu's u may have but feel free to pm us with any if it helps.
