This is driving me bonkers !!!
Can anyone transpose how to find "F" ?
..........B X C
A = -----------
.......D X E X F

........D X E X F X A
C = -------------------
................B

..............B X C
E = --------------
............D X A X F

...........D X E X F X A
B = ------------------
...................C

Cheers !

There you go mate, ive made all the "F"s in RED and BOLD so you can find them too :p

Thanks Mike, I can see it better in red ;-)
An accountant friend of mine worked it out for me >
........B x C
F = ..---------
......D x E x A

'F' is the imaginary gear ratios in an auto gearbox that you can't count teeth of.
I have speeds vs revs via true gps & revs & the Mitsu quoted gears are bulltish.
Now I know the Real imaginary gear ratios by the transposed formula with my speeds.
It would be handy for figuring out what gears were put in a custom man box.
Cheers !

I was just about to give you that exact answer :p

Mate, you just confused me enough for the rest of the year :huh: :unsure: :wacko:

Have a drink Mike ;-) I posted a mph & rpm etc thread for when ya fist as a part..
Auto gearing is just clutches, a barrel & planetry gears & I'm glad I didn't design it.
I can change it's final drive & build it tuff, but they are confusing.
How the F do I add Solved to the topic ? I'm f'n confused ;-)
Cheers !

That was easy and took me a bit over a minute to figure out once I printed it out.
All you need to do is look at the constant in your equations.
Pull out the equations marked "A =", and the one marked "E =".
The top number remains constant as "BXC"
The bottom denominator changes between the letters E D A and F.
So it was a simple case of just replacing the "?=" with one of the letters in the bottom... in our case "F".
Too easy :)

Oh and another answer is "1".
If all letters are given the numerical value of "1"...... then the answer is also "1" lol :p

How many jokers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
No one knows, they are to busy loosening batmans screws

took me until that was written to understand the formatting ;)

F = BC / ADE :p

they were all the same equation, just with different subjects...
