That South Bend Kevlar setup does sound like a perfect setup for me.Will email the TMZ guys to see about international shipping. Thanks all!

Youll find Tim at TMZ great to deal with. The guy is a legend in sourcing parts for me and sending them over for the last couple of years. Each order comes in well packaged and without fault. What he doesnt have in stock he will get it in. He personally has even gone direct to his local Mitsu dealership and ordered parts over the counter for me from interstate or Japan. Chalk him down as a trusted US supplier who is full of knowledge and doesnt mind sharing it. I'll keep going back again and again as a repeat customer as long as hes in business. I even have another current order placed with him for 2 forged clutch forks and some gearbox parts :)

Anyone know of a good place that will install this bad boy for me? I was going to head down to Revzone but George is not there anymore. Any suggestions that are close to Ringwood? I would get Spingy to install it for me but its hard to get out there with work and such.

Essendon Tyrepower in Niddrie, speak to their mechanic Paul, tell him you're a mate of Shayne (with the blue lancer coupe). Paul is as honest and straightforward as you can get and he doesn't muck around when it comes to getting the work done in a prompt time frame.

Otherwise there is Beninca Motors in Surrey Hills, these guys installed my clutch late last year before doing the dyno tuning on it (Paul was flat out and wasn't able to take my car on with his workload at the time). The Benincas do a great and honest job too, they get the work done in record fast time, but it's done properly and they are very fastidious with what they do.

I can highly recommend either Paul or the Benincas from personal experience.

I get my car done at Techdrive Automotive (Dave) in Greensborough, never had an issue.
I use a Exedy HD Sports Tuff Clutch, not as much power in the GSR though :(

South Bend Kevlar clutch is really reasonably priced too.

Hmm seems like its better than Exedy HD from what i see in this thread.... Ill be in the market for a new clutch in a week or so.

How long does this kevlar clutch take to arrive to our island ?

Honestly guys, Ive been really happy with the Spec Stage3+ (SM483F) . I prefer it over the Exedy single HD clutches anyday. This Spec 3+ is almost stock like on the pedal but grabs like a mofo! Its slippable when you want it to be and bites hard when you want it to - it was an unexpected but pleasant surprise actually. The fricton materials they use in the 3+ clutch face definitely work well with the lighter feel pressure plate. As mentioned previously they handle heat extremely well too and I have not been able to make mine slip even after multiple runs down the strip on a stinking hot day, or when I was making around 300kw atw and launching at 6500-7000rpm or shifting in the upper gears.

At the time when I bought the Spec money was tight and Jim Berry wanted $1200 for a custom modified Exedy HD jobby, but all I could afford was around $700. So I did some research and bought the Spec Stage3+ from Titan Motorsports and its proven to be a good investment. IMO you'll be hard pressed (pardon the pun) to find something as good value for the money these days. Ive got it mated to a Fidanza lightened alloy flywheel (with replaceable surface disc) and the disc doesnt even look like its been abused or suffered much heat discolouration at all.

I just did a quick search on US EBay and you can get the Spec Stage3+ (dont get the "3" as its not as good as the "3+" model) to suit GVR4 / EVO I-III / GSR for a little under $600AU ($580AU) delivered to your doorstep : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spec-Stage-3-Clutch-for-Galant-1991-1992-2-0L-VR-4-SM483F-/271152756157?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f21f6b5bd&vxp=mtr . For this price I hope some guys looking for a good HD single clutch on a budget seriously consider the Spec Stage3+, so that they too can share their thoughts with the forum  .

Well having racked up the first 1000kms on mine I can say it was exactly what I wanted! Thanks for all the input guys. It its a little more grabby than the Exedy HD but the pedal weight is exactly the same, no more slip high in the rev range and is awesome when you are churning through gears on a twisty road.

FYI it was approximately ~700 shipped with a heavy duty clutch fork.
