So hang on a minute... I wanna know why an identical product is beng sold under a few different brand names? they've got to be coming from an independent manufacturer cause none of the companies above would jeopardise their market share by selling to another mob would they? Where exactly are these coil overs made?

Taiwan.

a common thing i've noticed with these brands, some quote 8 way adjustible and some quote 32 way.

its 8 way per shock * 4 = 32.

That's cool then :) The Taiwanese industry was formed by the blood sweat and tears of the Japanese early to mid last century before China reinstated their rule, and the Taiwanese have been trying to gain their independece ever since. The Japanese still have quite a lot invested in factories and industries over there so the quality of products coming out of Taiwan are heaps better than what you see coming out of China

Anybody mind if i revive this thread?

There seems to be alot of discussion as to the quality of these coilovers, more specifically the "d2" and "g4" ones, which are apparently the same, just different colours/badging.

Other discussions seem to be saying that the shocks themselves are not of high standards, and thus the seals break - and they have high spring rates to try and take the load off the shocks, so they're no good.

Any comments/people who have used them or know more of them?

Well I got D2 the pretty purple ones, they havnt leaked, they are very hard, I punish them (dirt/gravel, tarmac windyroads etc) and they seem ok to me, they were cheap and delivered to my door for $1400 probly had em on the car for 20-30 000 klms now

i installed some D2's into a mates VR4,

personally i like the way they ride, but he thinks they're a little stiff.

havent had any issues thus far apart from the odd creak turning the front wheels.

probably been in for 6,000kms thus far.
