Hi all

Im not exactly new to the forum have been following it for a long time
but thought now is as good as anytime to introduce myself.
Name is glen from Ireland as in title and currently have 2 evos
1st is my evo 2 gsr which that I have about 7 years but have decided
to start modifying and tuning.
the 2nd is an evo 4 with Evo 7 engine. when i bought this one the add claimed to be Fq300
but I doubt it. this one has 3" cat back exhaust hks induction pipe and filter and unichip
piggyback ecu.

The main thing Im looking for help with is making a data logging cable for evo 2.
I have moates ostrich system and tunerPro Rt cant log through that.
Just wondering what you guys use for logging your early evo's

Hi mate....only thing I have heard of people over here using to log the early ecus is a palm pilot. Which uses software called MMCd.
You plug it into obd port and away you go. If need be I can take some pics of the setup I used to use, before upgrading to a late model ecu in my Evo?.

thanks that might help. I was thinking of upgrading to later ecu in the future.
are you using evoscan for your later model ecu obd2

He already has those abilities with what he has....the only advantage of Ecmlink over what he has, is the logging capability. Palm pilot is a cheaper method of logging than changing what he already has.

I think I may look for a later model ecu in the future, I got the ostrich with ecu for a good price that's why I went with it, I was originally hoping to go for ecmlink but a bit expensive for me at the moment and couldn't pass up on the ostrich for the price. I have found a cable that works with the 1g dsm's just cant get definitive answer on whether it will work with early evo

There's also a cable by evoscan claiming to work with evo 1-3 so I might go that route for now just trying to find out wats the most popular route, which seems to be likes of palm pilot. I'd like to go the laptop route though if possible

Hi guys would anyone have a pic of the logging cable they are using for their evo 1-3.
Ive been told the !g dsm cable wont work and I need a powered cable but I cant seem
to get one anywhere.

Thanks in advance
Glen
