nitto nt01 semi slicks

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I have heard that they are made by TOYO, similar compound to the old RA1s.
If anything they are on the hardest end of what is called a semi slick.
Still better than a road tyre hands down, A friend of mine runs them on his falcon and
he does quite well with them...all in all decent bang for buck for sure

they stick very nicely only 4mm tread depth though, (mine were purchased from USA) thats less then half a tyre :)

cost me about $290 each

great thing is they are very predictable - you get about 2 seconds before they break away! thats enf time to step off a little and get it around the corner
they have a tread wear ind: of 100 which is probably on the hard side with A A grip rating

They do stick a lot better than my Maxxis street tyres of the same size :) although the Maxxis are fun!

The federal 595 and the kumho ru36's are apparently good too and i believe cheaper. what they drive like I'm not sure.

One thing is the nittos haven't gone off on me yet! 5 hard laps at Lakeside Raceway and not one bit of "O shit, Fu*k - Whooo that was close"

100 is the same as the toyos which is classed as a hard semi, at 100 they would have much better grip than any road tyres,B)

I saw these when i was looking for some more semi's to replace the A032 iv'e got at the moment,
they have a good rep in the states and are a good price at around $280- 290
i just thought they might be a option if i can't find some propper semi slicks that are within my budget....

I allways get a laugh when i use budget i any convesation about motor sport.

A mate of mine ran these for a season of sprints,hill-climbs and drags on his Evo 2-RSwhich probably indicates how durable (hard) the compound is. He did very well and seemed quite happy with their performance for their price-point.
My personal preference is either Bridgestone or Yokahama for the track but I'd certainly consider these for a summer road tire on the TME.

Been meaning to come visit you/eat at your restaurant Troy, you might remember my red evo 1, met you ages ago on the m1 heading towards springwood, we stopped for a quick chat at springwood maccas, you gave me your business card but I lost it!
OT: nitto's should stick well, I run 595rsr (has a treadwear rating of 140, traction AA, temperature A) and they stick well enough so if the nitto's have treadwear rating of 100 depending on what their traction rating is then theoretically they would stick better than 595rsr. But 595rsr and kumho ku36 are cheaper :) All of them would be good sticky tyres for the street and occasional circuit blast without wearing out too quickly.

good to hear from you! moi

yes it is hard to forget that screamer pipe! still don't like em but!

like i said before NT01's only have 4mm of tread so they dont stay legal for street for very long! and yes you can still spin the little suckers :)

Moi if you want to say hi drop me a message before you come to the restaurant and I'll try to bring the lancer along! it has changed a bit since you last saw it!
