A| mitsubishi part number for an airconditioning idle pulley for a RVR anyone?
B| it might not come in the kit so anyone know the length of the air conditioning tension bolt in an RVR?
C| FYI airconditioning belt appears to be 4PK930

sounds like the idle pulley has noisy bearings & appears the original AC belt had been tightened to its limit and tension bolt snapped, fml.

bump.

should i just pull it out and take it to the bearing shop to see if they can match it?

also how long is the thread on the tension bolt, i know its grade 8.8 hardness i will be able to get one from fasteners specialist

Yep. Pull it out.

As for the bolt... id think to pull that too. There would be heaps of jap cars that would have a similar arrangement.
Id suggest the 2.4 4g64 magna, 2001-2006ish sonata. And just have a look around. Even just measure the length and get a nut that is right thread and then compare away...

my money is on the compressors clutch bearing being rooted and not the idler, the bearing in the tensioner pulley has a retainer and the bearing is easily remover and Mitsubishi do not supply the whole assembly, you will have to get the bearing from a bearing shop, GL M8

Bolt Part number: MB379661 (8mm x 110mm)
Check your aircon bracket and if it looks like my pics, then the bearing part number is: NSK 6303DU2

I once had it making squealing noises too and thought it was the bearing. The sound went away with a squirt of WD40.... but came back later.
It ended up being the nut that holds the bearing in place was loose and the bearing backed out a little, causing it to rub against the timing cover plastic.
That's was it. Simple fix lol.

That bracket is different but the bearing case looks the same. When you knock the other bearing out check the number to what EVO-00X has written up.

Also the air con compressor has two bearings, one at the back and one at the front which is the clutch bearing. You can check whether the clutch bearing is stuffed by seeing if the noise goes away when the air con is turned ON. The replacement of the air con clutch bearing needs a special tool to remove the front case to get to the bearing so you will need to see an auto elec/air con bloke or a smart mechanic that has the tool in his arsenal.

Well, just rung a local car air-con specialist and told him exactly what you said Django and he agreed 100% even without listening/looking at the car, and quoted me...wait for it...around $400-$500 to do the whole job...OR...he did say that if the air conditioning belt wasn't running anything else then just take it off (seeing as the owner before me degassed it or whatever)

With those part numbers up there, if I was to get the parts is it a job that I could do? Or is it a real specialist type job? I mean...who doesn't want air con if you can afford the parts whilst still being cheaper than taking it to the local mechanic, right?
