odd factory options

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

haha i remeber how annoying that chime was as a kid travelling in dads galant. thankfully my a-spec doesnt have that.

i do appreciate the rear wiper though after owning hatchbacks previously, i am used to having clear rear vision in the wet.
to me coming from NZ, cruise is a waste of time though, i never use it even on long trips

no rear wiper, no climte control, wind up windows, no side intrusion bars in the doors. 1990 RS

My full spec 89 j-spec doesn't have side intrusion bars either.

I've retrofitted the RS's flat, side hinged centre console lid - cupholder is marginally more useful than the stock one.

The colour change dash is only on pre-facelift j-specs (green or a really nasty 80's orange at the push of a button).

I've seen a plastic draw that slides out from underneath the passenger seat in a couple of n/a galants/eternas.

Best/rarest option would be a viscous front lsd though!

pre face lift jap spec, could be an 87 model, doesn't have climate control, has the mitsi emblem on the bonnet. only 1 dooby light works.

the ad said it was an 89 model though

87's had the diamonds on the bonnet.. they also had the different square stop light on the spoiler too.

Not having climate sounds like an RS- is it white??

My C73A cyborg came with the air purifier kit- on the head liner, and the rear!! I LOL'd when I was ripping it out- the exhaust fan blew black shit everywhere

i have an 87 also, what's the build no. on it?

My 89 ZR4 is strange,it has the auto wipers but they are slower than my old gsr galant and they dont do a wipe after water sprays.got the climate control and colourchange dash too.front seats have no lumber adjust.also have this strange bonnet scoop which looks factory but looks like it came off an import cordia, the 1.6 carby turbo model.and also have the central lock switch on drivers door window switch area, the gsr didnt have that

yea my eternas got the color change and theres a bracket under the glovebox that looks like it would fit a flare, strangely i dont have any lights in the ceiling next to the rear view mirror whereas my gsr did

e39a0010381 i'll take some photos and get them up. didn't rs have viscous rear and no 4WS? and extra vents on the bumper and an RS badge on the back

same here on my eterna,no lights near the mirror.I am assuming that the japanese writing on the drivers sunvisor is for the catconverter overheat?.and does everybody as well as the eternas have the car arial in the back window.if so does it work well because mine dosen.t.

No.

RS's usually have a sticker under the vr4 badge on the boot. Also, only RS-Evolutions have the vents,16G turbo's, 510's, etc.

ALL RS's have mechanical rear lsd's and no 4ws.

Pre-facelift vr4's (and zr4's) only have interior lights in the middle of the roof (switched by the door's opening). Facelift vr4's have those lights plus 2 'map' lights with switches in the centre of the roof, an additional 2 'map' lights with switches by the rear view mirror and lights by the mirror on the reverse of the passengers sunvisor.

If you get bad reception from it, that is because there is a booster tucked away near the window that needs power supplied to it. Once you get that powered up, reception is fine.

is this an easy unbolt, bolt on retrofit? i am considering it due to the downright uselessness of the stock cupholders

or perhaps cutting the base of the stock cupholders so that a Macca's cup would wedge in there, no good for cans or bottles though <_<

Yup. The cupholders are still pretty awful though - turn left sharply and it'll end up in your lap!

I'd suggest cutting the base of the stock cupholders then making a piece that is 30-50mm lower for the bottles/cans to rest on.
