I have gotten a pair of Bridgstone potenza tyres in goon condition and I am wanting to try them out on the front of my car, being a GSR it is 4WD and I just want to know if there will be any issues fitting them relating to the centre diff. The current tyres on the car are Maxxis 215/40ZR17 87W on all 4 wheels, I'm wanting to put the Bridgestone 215/45R17 87W on the front. If this is gunna result in bad things I will have to buy a couple more or for get about the idea.

Keep them ALL the same size dude.

Its as simple as that.

Dont take any chances with 4WD cars and odd tyre/rim sizes.

Thats it......

yeah but are these tyres even different rolling diameter? I dunno how to read the numbers on the tyre! I think the 215 is the sidewall and the 40/45 is the width therefore they are the same just different width so it doesnt matter?

The 40/45 is the profile (height) of the tyre.

Get a tape measure and measure the circumference, if the difference between the two types of tyres is anymore than about 5 mm or so (and its a good chance that it will be), I wouldn't use them.

yep, what rob said.

its the 40/45/50 is the height of the tyre.

215 should be the width of the tyre.

17 is just suits 17 inch wheels.

pretty sure thats how it works, correct me if wrong though.

edit: dono what 87w is :(

as above measure them and dont put them on if they are
different, not work the damage to you diff.

87w is the speed rating of the tyre

215/40/17=603mm
215/40/17=625mm

These diameters will probably leave your centre diff in bits in i guess around a fortnight or so..

Dont do it..theyre way out.
