ohlins coil overs

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I have a set of Ohlins in my GSR but they are not coil-overs. They are adjustable bump (not rebound like normal)

work fantastic i did need to change the towerplate as they were 2 stud not 3 (cusco ball style) they came with the cusco tower plates

i picked them up for $1000 had them fully checked out and dynoed for $140 I also changed the rear spring rate to suit my application.

Ask BrizVR4 they handle just fine :)

they originally came out of the mirages that they used at indy for the cleb racing.

you can just get lowered coils to suit the height you want just like normal struts they run as a lowered coil strut so they can run fine with s/l kings
I have mine set fairly high, but i have got the controlarms sitting level so i get little to no bump steer, a lot more stable when cornering on uneven crappy roads.

The motor is fine just waiting for the machining to be finished on the G/Box - wire in the haltech and Off she'll go.

i asking because the coil overs out of the mirage cars make evos sit a little low, not good for handling.

i thought yours might be very low also

I had konis' at first and they were low almost rim at guard (too low)

no these actually sit possibility a fraction lower than factory. (110 mm clearence)

they are fitted with an Ohlin coil on front and a modified variable rate king coil on rear. only running an 18mm rear sway bar strut braces front and rear std sway on front (GSR)

To answer your actual first question : these are Japanese aparently parts are a little harder to get for the jap ones but can be got!

Some shock repairers can find parts that interchange but it comes down to how much they want the job. I found the jap ones to be very good and predictable, if you are worried go for a mainstream brand like KONI parts are no problems.
