install my hks ssq bov and when i was plugging it in the cooler pipes i noticed some oil in the pipes.. is that normal? is it bad? is it a major problem? thanks..

Depends, could be simply blow by from the breather being ingested back into the turbo from the intake, or in a more extreme case, turbo seal wear, but usually that is accompanied by white smoke on startup, sitting at traffic lights, or under boost.

it is normal if there is no catch can its nothing to worry about

Yep, I buzzed out when I pulled my first I/C pipe off my old Libero GT, though it was blow by but was quickly told it wasnt :D:D

a common sight..

the breather from the rocker cover is basically going straight into your intake pipe which then gets blown into your i/c pipes etc etc...

get a catch can, it'll solve the problem

Another bad side effect is that the very fine oil mist (Blow by) in your intake can knock the octane rating out of your fuel ALOT, not good if you are running higher boost ect, can make the engine ping, detonate.

worst case scenario

(my case) i pulled all my pipes out and there was oil everywhere too.
I do have a catch can, But i was pumpn the oil out.
I had 4 cracked pistons all inbetween the ring landings. Hence oil everywhere. But at the shop now so new engine rebuild.

Hope this helps.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
