Oil Temp Sender in Sump Bolt

You guys reckon this would work? Machine out and tap the sump bolt to take the oil temp sender? Save having to drill and tap etc a new hole in the sump!
 
yeah will work fine, done it to quite a few cars. not sure about the mitsis, but when i was at autobarn kelpro made sump plugs that had the it already driller out, i think it was for sump threads that were getting stuffed, so you put the main bit in, then you can drain from the smaller hole. but the ones i saw where your normal temp sensor size.
 
You can use the block off plug in the oil filer housing where your lines go to the oil cooler is where most people utilise(its already there just remove the blanking plug)

That's what I plan on doing, but with one of those adapters to run pressure and temp.
 
I would be concerned about the possibility of ripping the wire off the sender if it got caught on something. Might give you a fright until you worked out what happened ;).
