Hey guys,

Just hit upon me that there may still be a few minor things I may not have factored in when I did the engine swap.

Things I may not have considere when going from the 4G15P to the 4G63:
  • Fuel Pump
  • Fuel Lines
  • Fuel Return Lines
  • Air Intake (Will the '63 get enough air via my (modified) safari snorkel)
  • Tyres (Should I put higher rated tyres on her? They are category V)
  • CV Shafts (The 1.8 Gearbox that I swapped out a while back went back on, with the stock Proton Driveshafts in it)
  • Hubs (Can the stock hubs handle the torque?)
  • Chassis side of engine mounts (Should I reinforce these? Or will the chassis take it over a long period of time?)
  • Radiator - I replaced the stock radiator with a full alloy core, 1.5xstandard thickness after the 4th radiator blowout (Roo, Roo, Landcruiser, Wombat), and they fitted plastic tanks cos they didn't have any alloy tanks that matched jumbuck radiator mounts. I kept this, cos it kept my engine slightly cooler than normal)
And I'm sure there is other stuff...

With any modification to do with fuel/air it's always beneficial to get a tune but not always necisary.

Hubs, shafts, chassis ect should be fine with a standard 63t

Fuel pump/lines ect should hold up fine on a standard tune. Once u go more power fuel pump upgrade is recommended.

Air intake, being worried about "not enough air" again comes down to the tune and the map more than anything else. Re mapping will be able to bring the ratios in check if it's not getting enough. Worse case it'll simply be a restriction to your air flow.

Ok, well, she's not a turbo, I mean, a turbo should go fine with the snorkel, cos then it would actually have some suck to it, which would help, but the snorkel got install so that:
  1. I wouldn't drown her
  2. Give cooler, cleaner air
The snorkel came of a GQ patrol wagon originally, so I didn't think of any problems occuring, as it works on teh Patrol Diesel donk...
