Just to mention the 15 yr old rule applies from the day of the accident, so if your car isn't on that day, its usesless waiting even if it has only a couple of days or months etc.... so I've been told by vicroads....

I beg to differ.. i helped a mate register a car recently that had been in an accident and needed VIV.. it was 15 years and like 8months.. i rang up vicroads and we had it go thru the pits (cos it was unreg) and he passed no problems!
