Check your vacuum line is connected to your fpr and put a guage on it and check that the pressure increases with boost. Does it only ping under boost, only under light load, only when cruising?

What exactly was done to the head?

Another check would be to get a laser thermometer and measure the temp of each exhaust runner after a drive, if any cylinder is running lean, it will show up as being hotter. Might help identify if its just one cylinder or all cylinders that are detonating.
