Seems lots of Lancers are dying these days so I've been cutting connectors off looms and reusing connectors fairly easily.
Got 3 looms in a box in the garage now so that's a never ending supply of wire and connectors.
A soldering iron and a set of jewellers screwdivers and your set to go.

Yea im the same clive. I reuse all sorts of junk. Its a bit of a pain recrimping the pins with longnose pliers. Ive been soldering them too but it needs a bit of practice to keep the solder small enough to fit back in the connector, and getting the rubber boot right.

jack when it come to getting a nice smooth solder conection on a pin joint i use a gas power soddering iron without the tip like a blow torch on the pin itself and then touch the sodder to it the sodder wicks into the pin join very well and smooth

My bigger iron does a better job of them
