Help Support 4GTuner:

springfeild
i am just about to check the sparkplug gaps as i was to lazy to do it when i changed them and i have only just remembered to bring my feeler gauges home from work

well that didnt do shit

could someone please educate me on data loggers, correct me if im wrong but its just a cable to go from ecu to pc with software, will this show me the faults memory

Suck up nicely to Brisvr4 and ask him to log it for you, or if you are over on the northside of town, let me know. Most of us use Palm Pilots instead of pc's

i just had a bit of spare cash so i thort i would try replacing the leads as so many have suggested, i got top gun tg4463, cost about $86.
but now it feel a little bit better at times but at other times it feels worse than before. plus number 4 lead looks a bit short and i had to route it so it goes behind the oil cap so its not streched on the rocker cover, should i see if i can return them

returned the leads and got my money back, just took my car for another drive tonight and is getting worse, sitting at a set of lights every now and then the idle would drop to maybe 500rpm and sound rough as tho it dropped a cylinder
i was talking to meek today in regards to an unrelated topic, but i asked about data loggers and he said vr4s cant be data logged because they have single board ecu is this correct or maybe just aus spec

brisvr4 can you please help me data log this fucker.
pm me if you are able to help

What he was trying to say, was that ONLY single board ECU's can be logged.

how do you tell the difference between facelift and pre facelift

These are different Jap Spec models.

Pre-facelift:

Facelift: (with EVO VR4 bonnet and front bumper cut out)

Or did you mean tell the different between the ECU's??

hmmm i did some work to my car last night, drove it to work this morning and now its running sweeeet as!!!!!!!!!!!
the work i did yesterday was remplace rocker cover and give the leads a good clean with alcohol and shellite (because i have been told dirty leads can caus a cross fire. mine were fucken filthy)
i made sure this time i put the leads in properly with all the spacers in the right spots as the last couple of times i had them out i have been a lazy bastard and done a half assed job of putting them in..
so would anyone support my theory that the leads have been sitting on a hot rocker cover causing a higher resistance resulting in weak spark.
if this is the case then i should really be replacing the leads anyway.

anyone know a part number for jap spec leads

by the way clutz
i cant reall tell the difference from your front shots, but from the rear i would say mine is facelift

Facelifts have different spot lights, tail lights and garnishes. They also have antenna's in the rear 1/4 panel- a lid on the pocket located on the dash, speaker covers on the front doors, valeur/flocked A-pillar trims and NO colour change option on the instrument cluster

I don't know if there is an off the shelf set of leads for the J specs, I got mine made to suit by Queensland Ignition Leads in Kallangur.
