Power Flat Spot

Hi Everyone

I seem to be having an issue with my RVR HSGR at the moment. Occasionally when driving I will slow down, and then accelerate and I experience a flat spot in the engine power. It doesn't happen very often. I could drive 500km and only experience it once. Boost gauge is indicating that I am making positive boost, however the power is just not there!?

What things should I be looking at to try and determine what is wrong?

Start with usuals- spark plugs, then leads etc

fuel slosh in the tank.....next time it happens take note of how full the tank is

BP7ES Are the plugs you want
Keep with the stock NGK Range and avoid iridium plugs, they're TRIPE! They do nothing for our cars!

Finally managed an good oil and filter change. Getting some cold air happening around my pod shortly. I haven't noticed the problem for a while now. It's just wierd.

New plugs going in tomrrow. Thanks MattL for the plug spec. I've had platinum plugs in for ages but I think it's time for a change.

ahh i was going to ask you matt, whats wrong with iridum plugs? its just that my mate has given me 1 heat range up plugs in iridiums but i was waiting till my cams went in and got a tune before adding them..are they ****?

It's not that they are bad plugs, if anything they're great plugs. The thing is, they were never designed to run in our car. If they were, we would be using them.

Platinum/Irridium plugs are designed for use in some cars where accessing the plug is hard and are designed to be replaced every 20-30,000K rather than every 5 - 10,000.
I found no difference running them, infact when I changed back in the Sports gear the car ran a little smoother and didnt miss up high.
