hey guys,
i'm just curious... in a full weight vr4, what power is required to break into the 12's, based on experiences. (12.999 or better)
mat :)

220hp = 160kw doesn't it?

My car was making 155kw atw @ 14psi before it was re-tuned last night.

When it made 155kw it had heat range 5 spark plugs, boost leak, standard intake and badly slipping clutch

Now it has heat range 6 plugs, boost leaks fixed, 6 inch into 3 inch intake, 3 puck ceramic clutch, fidanza flywheel and 1psi extra boost.

Miodrag made a 13.0 with 220 atw HP = 165 atw kw. He had clutch probs
at the time. So 12's can be made with your 3 puck clutch matress.

i'd say about 180awkw to be safe

have you run your car before? what time did you get?

your clutch will take a LOT of time off, have you got a full exhaust yet as well?

Miodrag never ran a 12.. id say you will need around 180awkw mark.

considering my evo is about 200kg less weight then a vr4 and makes 187.3awkw and runs 12.5's.

the last time i ran the car, it did a 14.5 at about 95mph. that was with the old clutch... it was ridiculous, it didnt grab in any gear. it was like revving the car in neutral.
i don't have the exhaust done yet, it's still the 2.5 inch press bent cat back system... stock intercooler pipework and crappy front mount too.

bro, you should be cracking a 12. What power did your car make after the re-tune?

I did a 12.5@109 with 202kw atw, and all my sounds, interior and 18" wheels. I rekon you could do a 12 with 170-180kw atw, and stripped interior!!!

you can always say it come down to maths power buy this divide that but in my opinion it comes down to the driver power helps but driver makes it the good i might be able to get a 14 and then in the same car clutz could get a 13 it comes down to knowing you car and driving it well my 2cents

dre,
the car was tuned on the street so i didn't get a dyno figure. pulls a damn lot harder now though! I took barge for a drive in it tonight, he seemed to notice the difference aswell.
all that was done to it was alter the AFR's.

hey mat
its not as easy as it seems...

it should run a 12, but will probably run a 13...

little things like i/c leaks will significantly slow your car down...

thats why, do things right and u'll get it the first time!

in saying that, get a new cooler and piping dude!!...

and a retune and it should be 12's if u sort the suspension and get it launching hand and shifting hard (as it does with the awesome new shifter!!)
