Power run comparisons (DYNO GRAPHS) - UPDATED pg 4 new graph!!

Help Support 4GTuner:

harry your torque/power curve looks fkn fantastic!
that would be undoubtedly the most userfriendly modded evo to drive!

I would have liked to see RPM on the X-axis at the bottom of the graph rather than kmh as the graph shows what happens when you line up 4 cars side by side at 65kmh then plant your right foot down only. I dunno about you guys, but who here plants their foot down in 4th gear without dropping back a gear or two? :p

At 65kmh in 4th gear, those bigger engines with the bigger turbo will be cruising around off boost or very little of it until they hit around 3500rpm give or take depending on mods.

IMO Harry's turbo is making boost too early, especially in a racing situation changing up through the gears and the engine staying high in the rpm range through each shift and loses out on top end.

I like the look of Baz's curves as they are very linear and stable with power coming on pretty early and strong - and they continue to keep going strong :) Baz, at what rpm are you coming on boost with the GT3040 in the 2.4?

Any chance this info can be obtained with RPM at the bottom? that would be even better to see :)

Yeah, I was looking at it from a side by side racing perspective in 4th gear at a rolling start of 65kmh. Harry's car has 18psi boost ready to shoot him out like a bullet from a gun right from the word 'go' which is insane. The others would be playing catch up til their bigger turbos come on song.

Harry, is it difficult to cruise around off boost or are you virtually boosting from very low rpm all the time? Also, how does it compare fuel consumption wise to your previous setup?

sometimes its difficult but thats cos of the clutch i got, other wise its really smooth power from the moment i tap the pedali pretty much cruise around in 4th or 5th which ive nick named D for drive....i may have to slow down in traffic to about 40km in 4 or 5th but instead of thrown down a couple of gears i just drive in whatever im in.....its hard to imagine that i havnt actually reved it out past 6500rpm, but yeh its awesome to drive.....ive lost 100kms per tank compared to 2l

maybe we'll throw my car on the springy dyno aswell. As the last time it was on there it had a cracked inlet manifold

Its amazing what a aftermarket ECU does for these cars, I would be interested to see what my more stockish E3 would do without any tuning.

So after you all compare dyno charts, do you all then march into the toilets and do a "mine's bigger than yours" comparison when taking a piss....?

BAHAHA

I think this just shows how many different ways there is to mod your 63. Pre-planning of what your use will be as to how you setup your car. just throwing a big turbo and computer isn't always the answer to making power its about making useable power for street/drag or track.

cool comparo, be nice if all the boost pressures were similar though. Cant go past a stroker for the street!

Anybody with a run on the Springy Dyno can have this done.

Just let me know and I'll plot the graphs. Only takes a few minutes (just have to find the good run!)

Polo, next dyno day, bring it down and get a run!

haha whens that?

maybe u can just manually fotoshop this in lol

my old one done at r.e which should be a fair bit different now.

if its a fair bit different as well as being on a different dyno.....why would u post that polo, you bastard!? thats just braggin....... flat out:thumbsdown: but i do like that! (the braggin) not the graph cos ur a bastard:rolleyes:

Polo, next dyno day (prolly next weekend) come down for a proper run!
It would be great to get a proper comparison

Here are some requested graphs.

OVR4 - GVR4 / VR4 stock motor / intercooler + piping / exhaust (could be better) / Autronic SM4
OSCAR - Lancer CB AWD / VR4 stock motor / intercooler + piping / exhaust / Wolf V500
G5R5OL - Lancer GSR / VR4 stock motor / intercooler + piping / exhaust / AUTRONIC SM4 / Not sure if it had cams

All 98 RON fuel.
