I want to do a sensor check, but i dont have obd 1 or 2. Ive changed the power tr unit, still no spark. Any help would be appreciated and also is there anyone that can check the ecu once its out of the car (bench test).

Thats ok if you have these parts at hand, so i have to do it the old fashioned way, the check engine light goes off after 5 secs with ignition on which means its not storing any fault codes from the sensors, doing a self diagnostic check is pointless. Repco in sunshine have a cas for $180, so i might try that. I will see if i can get a signal out this sensor first. I checked the ecu, smelt alright and no capacitor leakage so visually it looks ok. There is some sort of external resistor on the firewall, i might just backprobe everything and see what i get. Stranger things have happened, but whats the chance of two coils going at once? Anyway i have time tommorow so i can check these things. Thanks for youre help guys, you know these cars more than me and after searching this forum i know now what to look for and the most common faults. For a small car they pack some good technology and i cant wait to get this thing on the road.SIVART said:its hard to bench test, its easyer to swap another into your car
