Has anyone been down the path of buying a proton window reg for a cc lancer?

I have a proton part number PC 431314 and it looks like the right bit of gear but im not 100%
Can the motor and reg be bought as a unit and bolted to the existing mitsubishi unit with no probs?

I seen this on dions write up, but not sure if he used just the reg or replaced the whole thing...

Thanks

Heres a pic of the one i seen at the dealership, the one id like to use and just bolt up to the existing mitsi cable and track. (PC 431314)

Its around a quarter the price, i told mitsi to get F*cked after what they wanrted for it..
3rd pic is Mitsi one...Note..pics of proton one is of passenger side..

Im pretty sure Dion grabbed the whole regulator as a complete unit Jamie. The whole thing will transfer into the Lancer's door shell.

So dont bother with just the motor and reg as it wont bolt up to the existing parts?

Do you know which model/car to get it from? as i have to order it but i dont want to get the wrong one.
Thanks.

Jamie.

yup I just installed a Persona window reg in my EVO 2 on the weekend.

Bolted straight in, I installed the Drivers Door. The Proton switch bank also works :D

Both regs side by side

yea must be embarrasing working in mitsi spare parts, tryna justify hugely marked up prices, bearings are a rip off too, 3x the price of a bearing shop opposite, the above just saved me some coin, thanks

well done on the find!!

only thing of concern is that the proton window reg does not have the 'revised' support bracing around the area which usually snaps off
(which causes the cabling to tangle and then the window not going up and down, hence a replacement being needed)

the genuine mitsubishi part now does have this bracing in their new revised replacement units

However mitsi pricing may not be justified as their regulators for front are close to $160-170 each without a motor :O

I guess you have to look at it in that without the bracing, a brand new reg without bracing should still last at least around 10 years.... so i guess proton is the go if its cheap enough for the part!

i know with proton wiras black roof rubber/weather strips (which Ive posted about in other threads with the part numbers) they were $170 for a pair in comparison to mitsubishis $406 a pair... for the identical parts. the proton roof strips fit on GSR perfect and are the standard black colour

thanks mitsi :\

The motor and drive from mitisi was just over $500, proton was around $90.
I told mitsi to go and get......................:D

I heard the whole power window reg/drive and motor is near 900-1k when bought at mitsi..Get efffedddd!!!

most of the time you only need the reg less motor though, and from mits its $135 for a reg, but yeah the motors are expensive

^^true
In the 7 years of that which I owned it, both the rear window regs were changed and one front window reg

none of the motors went :)

Thread revival!!!

Was just fiddling with a couple of the regs I had here, one from an Evo, the other from a Proton.
They can definately be mixed and matched...

The back of the proton motor has a cog(driver wheel) with a star shaped piece of plastic, the Evo one is slightly different, so all that is needed if using bits from both companies, is to swap the cog on the drive wheel to match the piece it slots into! Sounds a bit confusing but anyone who has the two to compare will easily see what I'm on about....
